Federal Retirement Claims Jumped in September.

OPM last month received 11,952 new claims for retirement under the CSRS and FERS Systems. Nearly 5,000 more than the 7,000 claims forecasted.

OPM has projected that employees will file 7,000 retirement claims in each of the last 3 months of 2012, before jumping to an estimated 21,000 claims in January 2013.
